Formed around 2017 in the heart of Lisbon’s music scene, THE INVISIBLE TUBA has steadily grown in popularity, establishing themselves as a vibrant fixture in Lisbon’s music scene. Bringing together musicians from Portugal, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, USA, and Italy, they’ve attracted a wide variety of fans, from traditional jazz aficionados to vintage dance enthusiasts, with the strength of their musicianship and their infectious approach to the classic swing catalog.

While they’ve become recognized as world-class interpreters of 1920s and 1930s New Orleans jazz and swing, THE INVISIBLE TUBA has expanded their concept far beyond the music. Their performances are a true celebration, seamlessly blending tight musical arrangements with spontaneous on-stage comedy and theatrical interaction that breaks the mold of traditional concerts. Their approach reflects a fresh, high-energy perspective, ensuring early jazz is kept alive not as a museum piece, but as a living, breathing party built for the dance floor.

Despite focusing primarily on the raw energy of live performance and direct connection with their audience, the band has amassed a strong and enthusiastic digital following, driven by the visual character and humor of their shows

Featuring a powerful lineup of banjo, vocals, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, bass, drums, and clarinet, the band has performed at prestigious venues and festivals, including Culturgest, the OutJazz Festival, Titanic Sur Mer, and major vintage dance exchanges. For THE INVISIBLE TUBA, every concert is an opportunity to blur the line between the stage and the crowd, fulfilling their ultimate mission: keeping the music swinging and the audience smiling
